Tree Surgery

Heartwood tree services meet customer needs whilst respecting trees and their environment.

We combine sound arboricultural knowledge with techniques that meet industry standards according to BS 3998.

Some of our popular domestic and commercial tree surgery services in Kent and the south east include:

  • Tree pruning: crown reductions, thinning, crown lifting
  • Cable bracing
  • Tree felling: aerial tree rigging to dismantle trees safely in awkward locations
  • On-site processing of timber into firewood
  • Site clearance
  • Stump grinding
  • Tree winching using a tractor-powered winch

Estimating the tree works

Once you have contacted us, we will:

  • Arrange to view your tree.
  • Provide advice on the best way to manage the tree and the appropriate time of year to carry out the work. We will advise on the most suitable time of year to carry out work depending on the type of tree and work needed. This will always be at the time most appropriate to the tree’s growth habit and development.
  • Prepare a quote for the proposed work. All work is agreed in advance and it is not essential to be present for the works. In the event that the property has restricted access, we will discuss this at the time of agreeing the works.

Getting permission for tree works

In certain circumstances, it is a legal requirement to obtain permission before carrying out tree works. For example, trees that are located in a conservation area or that are subject to a tree preservation order (TPO) will require permission from the local authority before any work can take place.
Heartwood Tree Care can work with you to identify whether permission is required to carry out tree work and submit relevant information to request permission.

Dealing with tree waste

We hold a waster carrier’s license, so we can remove waste from the site or prepare the arisings on-site so that they can be re-used, for example, as wood chip for mulching or firewood.
